FAQs
Questions people often ask
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can contact me directly. If you've recently had an operation, it helps to have any discharge letter or exercise sheet from the hospital to hand.
What do I need at home?
Not much: a little space to move, a firm chair, and clothes you can move in easily. Shorts or loose trousers are helpful for knee and hip problems. I bring everything else, including a portable treatment couch if we need one.
Can a relative or carer be there?
Yes, and they're very welcome. It often helps to have someone else hear the advice and see the exercises.
I'm arranging this for my mum or dad. Is that OK?
Of course. Lots of people get in touch on behalf of a parent or partner. I'll just need to speak to them too, to make sure they're happy for me to visit.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the problem and your goals. After the first visit I'll give you an honest idea. There's no package to sign up to, and you can stop whenever you like.
Can I claim on my health insurance?
Possibly. I'm not registered with any insurers directly, but I can give you a receipt to send to them. Please check with your insurer before your first visit.
Is this the same as NHS physiotherapy?
It's a private service, so you pay for each visit. The difference is that I come to you, and you'll see me every time.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancelling is free with at least 24 hours' notice. See the cancellation policy.
Do you treat children?
No, I only treat adults.
